WMS or Web Map Service, it is a method of hosting map tile data on private and public servers, you can connect them to your METAGEO account dynamically view the tiles along with your data. This can add additional insights.
Our system works with the following WMS servers:
- ArcGIS
- Geoserver
- OGC
- MapServer
Some times a token is required to be able to access certain services, which you would have to request from the provider
There are several public sources of WMS data which can be valuable for comparison, some of these include, but are not limited to:
FIRMS Fire Information for Resource Management Service - This is a curated list of WMS services for active thermal anomaly (fire, volcano eruptions, etc) from NASA, NOAA, and more.

Landfire.gov - this website is dedicated to wildland fire prediction, detection and risk. It has a number of different WMS layers that show different satellite based analytics.

weather.gov - this website has WMS services including weather, water, air quality and more

A WMS layer is built by accessing a link to where the tiles are, and METAGEO will request the specific tiles for where you are currently viewing. An example of a WMS link would be:
